Watson & Company is the only Korean company to be invited to present the latest research trends and clinical application cases of transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) electrocephalic drugs. This technology is a non-invasive brain stimulation technology that controls brain function by sending a weak electric current to the scalp, and is used to treat various mental illnesses such as depression, insomnia, and ADHD.

Watson & Company has already pioneered the market by applying brain science technology to various fields in Vietnam. In particular, it introduced a brain science-based ‘Focus’ device to the Vietnamese national shooting and archery teams, and achieved results in improving the athletes’ concentration and sleep quality.

In addition, Tan Son Nhat Airport, the largest international airport in Vietnam, is conducting a pilot project to improve sleep disorders and stress among three-shift workers. As a result of applying it to airport employees suffering from circadian rhythm disruption and chronic fatigue due to irregular working hours, work efficiency and quality of life have greatly improved, receiving favorable reviews from the Vietnamese aviation authorities.

A Watson & Company official said, “We plan to use this academic conference to establish a foothold for entering the Vietnamese mental care public market,” and “We plan to strengthen our position in the local market by conducting clinical research with Bach Mai Hospital, a major general hospital in Vietnam.”

He continued, “This invitation is an example of the international status of Korean brain science and technology, and it is expected that the influence of Korean technology will expand in the Southeast Asian medical market in the future.” He added, “In particular, Watson & Company’s steps in the Vietnamese market, where interest in mental health is increasing, are expected to be an important milestone in the globalization of domestic brain science technology.”

He also added, “Recently, Vietnam has been experiencing rapid economic growth and awareness of mental health issues is increasing, so the related medical technology market is growing rapidly.” He added, “In this market environment, Watson & Company’s entry into Vietnam is expected to become a new export model for Korean medical technology.” Reporter Choi Kwon-beom kwonbeom.choi@jnilbo.com
